Einat (@ChefEinat) is the chef and owner of Balaboosta, Bar Bolonat, Taïm, and (coming Fall 2017) Kish-Kash, a Moroccan couscous bar in the West Village serving North African Jewish cuisine. She has been nominated for a James Beard Award and has appeared on “Chopped” three times, winning it once. Einat is also the author of Balaboosta: Bold Mediterranean Recipes to Feed the People You Love. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband, Stefan Nafziger and their two young children, Liam and Mika.
Letitia James (@TishJames) is the New York City Public Advocate. The first African-American woman to hold citywide office in New York City, she was born in Brooklyn and worked as a public defender for the Legal Aid Society. Before running for Public Advocate, Tish was the City Council Member from the 35th Council District, which includes Clinton Hill, Fort Greene, and parts of Crown Heights, Prospect Heights, and Bed Stuy. She has always been a stalwart supporter of street vendors and other marginalized communities.
Ashok, (@dapwell ) also known as Dap, is a DJ, dancer and radio host. Best known for being a member of, and hype man for, the former rap group Das Racist, he is also the creator of the weekly Know-Wave radio show “Chillin’ Island,” Along with his brother Hari, he produces “the Untitled Kondabolu Brothers Podcast.” and his variety-show "Hey, How Ya Doin?" will be debuting on BRIC this fall. Kondabolu was born in Queens and graduated from Stuyvesant High School.
Hari (@harikondabolu) is a stand-up comedian and writer who has appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman, Conan, Jimmy Kimmel Live and Comedy Central among many other TV programs. A public radio regular, Hari also co-hosts the podcast "Politically Reactive" with W. Kamau Bell. Wired called him “the best political standup comedian working today.” Born and raised in Queens, Kondabolu attended Bowdoin College, earned a Masters in Human Rights from the London School of Economics, and worked as an immigrant rights organizer before getting into comedy.
Melissa Mark-Viverito (@MMViverito) is Speaker of New York City Council, in which she has represented the 8th District (East Harlem and parts of the South Bronx) since 2006. A former labor organizer who is the first Latina to hold a citywide elected position, she has been a champion for immigrants rights, workers' rights, criminal justice reform, and in particular, our city's twenty thousand street vendors.
Ben (@bleventhal) is an entrepreneur who is the co-founder and chef executive officer of Resy, a restaurant reservations platform using technology to pioneer a new standard of hospitality for the restaurant business. He is also the co-founder of Eater.com, the James Beard Award-winning website acquired by Vox Media in 2013.

A three-time James Beard Journalism Award winner, he is a globetrotting food, lifestyle and travel writer whose stories have appeared in Travel + Leisure, Bon Appétit, GQ, The New York Times T Style Magazine, and Details. A Kentucky native, Sachs lives in Brooklyn with his girlfriend, their two kids, and a wood-burning oven in the kitchen.
